  2. What is it?
  3. The Oscillator creates sounds from waveforms.
  4.  
  5. How to use it
  6. Selecting Oscillator from the menu will bring up a dialog box with the following four parameters, Waveform, Frequency, Length in samples, and Length in seconds.  The default parameters will give a one second middle C sine wave.  The selected portion of a sound will be deleted and the new sound will be inserted.

  8. The Waveform popup menu is divided in three parts, the upper part is "Silence" and "Noise", the middle part is the built in waveforms, the lower part is all the waveforms in the Waveforms folder.

  10. The Frequency field can have a range of .0001 to 65535.9999 Hertz.  It controls the pitch.

  12. The Length in samples field can have a range of 0 to 99999999 samples.

  14. The Length in seconds field can have a range of 0 to 9999.9999 seconds.

  16. The Presets popup menu has the choice of 12 different notes.

  19. The Frequency should be less than half the sample rate to avoid noise.

  21. Changing the Length in samples field automatically updates the Length in seconds field, and vice versa.
